Mission: Designing Dreams transforms the bedrooms of children actively fighting cancer. As thousands of children in the US go through rigorous cancer treatments each year, many are too sick or immunocompromised to leave their homes. Our mission is to create an uplifting healing space for children battling loneliness, isolation, and the limitations brought on by their fight against cancer. We partner with interior designers, functional space experts, and professional organizers to create these ultimate spaces for healing, hope, and play.
We partner with the Child Life Specialist, Social Work, and Oncology team at Rady's Children's Hospital. They identify children going through a particular difficult treatment course, typically children of lower socioeconomic means and refer them into our program.
Our Bedroom Transformations are grounded in research on how your physical space affects your social-emotional wellbeing. Our bedrooms are intentionally design to bring calmness, healing, joy, and play. Allowing kids to be kids, even when they are isolated at home.
